(A very innovative show using both the imaginations of it’s creator, and it’s young viewers) The premise of the world in Potty Time was a miniature diorama covered in a fine layer of sand where invisible little people could be seen walking, falling, etc. by the depressions that appeared magically in the sand.

Getting back to The Goon Show, Spike Milligan as the main writer appeared to suffer the most strain with continuously having to come up with something new every week. I’ve always loved his warped humour, and watched his other TV shows and read his books.

Then there’s Harry Secombe. He played the idiot so well, it made me wonder just how much of it was acting?? (Laughs) Devout Christian and part-time classical singer, makes you wonder where he found all the time!

Both Harry and Spike only did a few characters each. The main force for the various voices was the incredible Peter Sellers. The man with a thousand voices, as he was often referred to.
