In America there is definitely a fighting art that rules. This art/sport is known as title boxing. Sometimes I hate to simply refer to boxing as a sport, because this automatically makes some individuals dismiss it’s techniques as fake. Oh it’s just a sport; there fore it’s not real. Fair enough. On some level anyway. On the other hand, title boxing is a great fighting art as well. Trust me; I knew a couple amateur boxers and they could hold their own in a street altercation. There was nothing fake about their explosive right hook. It’s all in how you train and learn. I am into Chinese boxing a little more than I am title boxing, but I appreciate both. At home I like to hone my boxing skills on a B.O.B. No, this is not some poor guys name, who I keep in my cellar for routine beatings. A B.O.B. is a training aid for title boxing or any martial art. It’s a punching bag of sorts. It’s actually a step up in my opinion. It looks like a man’s upper body, but without the arms. It’s made of a rubber-like material that’s very durable. Then the base is a heavy duty plastic container you can fill with sand or water. It’s perfect for folks who like to train martial arts at home.

One thing you should always remember about title boxing or any fighting art is that they’re useless without practice. You will get nowhere if you’re a slacker. Your body needs a routine. It requires a memory of skills and applications. This only comes from practicing. So stick those gloves on or tape those hands. It’s time to get busy with your title boxing training or whatever art you prefer. This is also a great way to stay fit.

My friend’s daughter was recently married and moved far away to live with her new husband . I know Mary misses her very much, but with email they are able to stay in touch every day. Her daughters husband is the biggest sports freak I have ever met . Baseball is his favorite sport and he happens to favor teams from California . He told me that he once went to fifty games in one season . He travels from Los Angeles to see the Chicago Cubs or Los Angeles Dodgers, to San Diego to see the Padres, to Oakland for the Athletics games, and also to San Francisco not to miss a Giants game. He owns his own business so he can travel as much as he wants and not necessarily have to take time off . Mary knows how much George loves going to baseball games and thought if she could get game tickets for him in her home town, every time a California team played there, George could bring Susan with him and she would have time to spend with her daughter while George enjoyed the game. George was thrilled with the thoughtfulness of mother-in-law and Mary and Susan with thrilled they would see each other more often.

I feel so great! I seriously impressed this girl that I met in the supermarket . She was looking at the apples while I was looking at the cantaloupe and I asked her if she knew how to tell if they were good . She fell for my line and helped me decide on a cantaloupe. I didn’t see a ring on her finger so I figured it was safe to make conversation and see if I might have a chance at dating her. I noticed what was in her cart and asked for her opinion on a certain brand of frozen food. I enjoyed the conversation so much that we spoke for a long period of time in the middle of the store . Thankfully, the store is diverse and has a shop in the front for coffee and biscuits so after purchasing our groceries we sat and conversed . She seemed very excited about it and we sat and talked there for another two hours . I can’t believe how well we connected so we made plans to go to see Detroit Pistons play. I was amazed when she informed me that she had attempted the previous day to purchase tickets for the exact game . I got her telephone number and told her I would call her soon. After our amazing meeting I went home to search for San Antonio Spurs tickets. The best part of the day was me calling her to let her know I had tickets, I have never heard a girl so excited about anything . I would like to think that this can develop into more ! Only one thing bothers me, I hate cantaloupe.
My twenty-eight year old niece is so picky, so buying her birthday presents is a chore . If I want to buy her clothes I would definitely have to take along one of her friends, as I am a lot older, therefore have different taste than she does . I have giver her jewelry, trinkets, and gift certificates, which she appreciates. I am always trying to think up new ideas. This year I heard her talking about going to a special concert. She has been collecting this singer’s CD’s for quite a few years now and even I enjoy some of his songs. I guess she tried buying the tickets but apparently the box office was slammed that day . She tried all day but every time she called the only thing she heard was the beep beep beep of the busy signal, she was so upset that she couldn’t get through . I remembered my neighbor saying when ever they wanted tickets for a special event they would go to an on-line site that offers the best priced tickets possible for sport events, concerts, theaters and the like. They were always pleased with the tickets they got and how easy it was to obtain tickets. I decided I was going to get my niece the tickets, so I asked my neighbor to help me, so we went online and found them for a decent price, I was so excited! I couldn’t even describe how excited my niece was, it was the best birthday present I think I could have given her .

My best friend and I finally made up our mind about the Chicago Cubs. We decided to get them! They were a bit more expensive then we planned, but we talked it over for a while and ultimately decided it was worth it. Every season we always say we’re going to see them and then we never do because of the cost or the time. We always find some reason not to go. Recently we have been having some talks about different things, so I think that this has been our inspiration . Our conversations recently have revolved around all of the things that we want to do this summer, and going to a Boston Red Sox game was at the top . We are girls but we love baseball ! We are both extremely excited about going to this game . We have both been in a rut lately, so this might be just what we need . We’re both pretty outgoing, but lately it seems like we’ve been spending so much time with our studies. One positive aspect of spending this much time inside studying is the fact that our grades have never been better . I can’t even count how many dates and get-togethers we’ve passed up already. We’re looking forward to socializing again and getting to know some of the other fans!
We can’t wait to see the San Diego Chargers. We wanted to go and see them play in the playoffs, and what a great chance to go home again, too. We weren’t actually going to my home, we were going to Tara’s . Taras family is not from Chicago, but I didn’t mind traveling . She couldn’t wait to go home . It has been a very long time since she has been home . By the time she left she had had enough of the city . There was little opportunity for what she wanted to do. She has been away for about seven years, and only returned home three times, all for funerals . Her parents, when they were living, would come here. I visited her hometown before I met her for business and hated it . Then I went again for work, and found that it was really a cool city. This was around the time that the Riverwalk was a hit . I’ve heard that it’s gone down a bit now, but I will see for myself. It’s going to be a good trip. I suggested to Tara that Jim and Sue tag along if they agreed to it . I’m sure that they would love to go see a game, especially if it meant getting away from home for a while . Jim is a friend of mine, who is in my support group for diabetes.
I can’t believe that Jim was upset that I was given MLB Tickets tickets. I told him I would ask our friends, Sanfred and Sonya, if they could find any more tickets, but I said that it wasn’t likely. The only reason he had tickets was because some client had had an emergency and couldn’t take Sanfred up on his offer. Jim asked his wife, who of course was ecstatic about the game . Sue and Jim were going to be able to stay in the same hotel as us, but unfortunately the flight that we were on was full to capacity . Thankfully, one of Sue’s friends was a travel agent so she made a single phone call . Sue’s friend pulled through and got them on our flight . All four of us couldn’t have been more excited . The next few days crept by while we impatiently waited for the time to arrive . In the meantime, we tracked the team and realized that they just might make it to the playoffs .

Chateau de Chambord was commissioned by the young King Francois in 1510 definitely an egomaniac when he was only 25 years of age, to help establish his power. He was not content with the amazing royal chateaux of Amboise and Blois.

He fancied a hunting lodge. Francois I spent without caring to realise his masterpiece hunting lodge. He even went so far as to change the natural course of the Loire River. The castle we see today was not completed until 1685, and it is the largest chateau in the Loire by far.

The castle is in the centre of a thirteen thousand acre wooded park and game reserve with [red deer and wild boar|wild boar and red deer[/spin], surrounded by a 20 mile wall. It is the largest walled forest park in Europe.

The Royal Chateau at Chambord, Loir-et-Cher, France is the most recognisable chateau in the world because of its very distinctive French Renaissance architecture that combines classical Italian structures with traditional medieval forms and a variety of towers and turrets. The roofline really is incredible.

If you are going to visit one chateau on the Loire, it should be this one.

Obviously, you can’t miss this one. This is solid stock. 440 rooms, 420 feet wide, 365 chimneys, 84 staircases, …. Inside the chateau the highlight is the double helix staircase which serves as the axis for the whole chateau, and is thought to have been designed by Leonardo da Vinci.

The castle was rarely inhabited. Francois I spent barely 7 weeks at Chateau Chambord on short hunting trips. Because the castle had been constructed for the purpose of short visits, it was not practical to stay there on a longer-term basis. The massive rooms, high ceilings and huge windows made heating a logistical impossibility. This was exacerbated by the fact that the castle was not surrounded by a estate or a village. There was no immediate source of food other than game. The end result was that all the food had to be brought in for the hunting parties which typically numbered about 3000 people at a time. This puts catering for the extended family for the holiday season into perspective doesn’t it.

When the castle was not inhabited it was left completely devoid of furniture. All of the tapestries, paintings, furniture, eating implements, were brought in especially for each hunting trip. Imagine trying to co-ordinate a party of two thousand odd including the royal family going camping.

This is why much of the furniture from this era was built to be disassembled in order to aid transportation. French beds and armoires all disassemble beautifully. Contrary to popular belief flat-packing was not invented by Ikea.

After King Francois died, Chateau de Chambord remained unoccupied for some 80 years falling into a terrible state of decay. In 1639 Louis XIII gave it to his brother, Gaston d’Orleans who carried restoration work which was greatly needed. Gaston d’Orleans saved the castle.

Louis XIV furnished the royal apartments and added a horse stable for a mere 300 horses to allow him to use the castle as a hunting lodge.

In 1930 the chateau became the property of the French Government but restoration work was not begun until a few years after World War II ended in 1945.

The finest course in the region, however, is Les Bordes, consistently ranked in the top five of France’s best courses.

The course was constructed 20 years ago on part of the late Baron Bich’s hunting esate in the heart of the ancient Sologne forest. It was designed with an unlimited budget. No expense was spared. A series of massive lakes was created and the millions of tones of displaced soil from the lakes were used to create the raised fairways twelve of which wrap around the water.

Les Bordes is consistently ranked amongst the top 100 courses in Europe and one of France’s top 5. Water features on 12 of the 18 holes on this course and it really is a challenge even for a pro.

My friends and I are all ecstatic that we are going to the Boston Red Sox game. It was a great chance to see the family as well as see Boston Red Sox in the playoffs.To be honest we were going to Tara’s home, not mine . I have always lived here. Tara and her family are all from New York . She was really excited about getting back to see Boston Red Sox. She hadn’t been back in many, many years. She left shortly after the river caught fire. She was ready because the city was so disgusting and polluted, she is a hippie, so she obviously tried many times to clean it up . Since she has moved, she went back only twice for her parents funerals but she did manage to catch a Los Angeles Dodgers game there once. Her parents, when they were living, would come here. I visited her hometown many moons ago and hated it the second my plane landed . Then I went again for work, and found that it was really a cool city. There was a lot going on. The second time I went the boardwalk was re-opened for the public . From what I have heard, the city itself has fallen due to the slow economy but Tara and I will see when we go for the Boston Red Sox game . It’s going to be a good trip.Yay! . Tara was going to call Jim and Sue and see if they could come along. I was hoping they would.

Jim was jealous that we were going to the Pittsburgh Steelers. I told him I would ask our friends, Sanfred and Sonya, if they could find any more tickets, but I said that it wasn’t likely. The only reason he had tickets was because some client had had an emergency and couldn’t take Sanfred up on his offer. Jim informed Sue that they might be getting Arizona Cardinals tickets and she nearly wet herself . Tara thought that it would be a nice gesture if we let Jim and Sue know what hotel we were staying at . Tara called Sue and told her that she had gotten space at the hotel as well, but the air flights were full. Thankfully, a close friend of Sues is a travel agent so she called in a favor . The travel agent made some calls and got a couple of seats cleared. It was a go. We couldn’t wait. I still had a few days to go at work, and so did Tara, and then we were off. Fantastic! While the waiting took forever, we realized that Arizona Cardinals was doing really well . The Bears couldn’t even touch them . We counted the days on the calendar until we were leaving. Tara was shocked when I told her that I used red marker to cross my days off . Meanwhile, the weather here was not so great, so a bit of warmer weather would be great.
