Rome Fun

At the subway arches of the Alexander Square you will find a museum that is the first of its kind in the German capital: The first DDR motorbike museum.
The man who had this idea was the 51-year old Uwe Kobilke who collected 80 scooters, motorbikes and mopeds in only 3 years time. Today, some of them are older than 50 years! Even more surprising is that some of them are still able to drive! They were all restored by Kobilke and he knows everything about every single motorbike. Now he is very proud to present his work to everyone else. Therefore, he puts loads of money and effort in it and even mixed the paints until he created the original ones. There is also one motorbike that belonged to a government escort of the earlier politician Erich Honecker. On its wind deflector you can still see the original emblem of the DDR.

Even before the museum opened on the 27th of September, there was loads of interest in the motorbikes: People that really wanted to have a look at them maybe because these motorbikes refreshed people’s memory?!
Now, there are 80 scooters, motorbikes and mopeds on 800 square meters on 2 floors.

If you want to visit the museum, come to Rochstraße 14 c. It is open every day from 10am until 9pm and it costs 5,50Euro (4,50Euro with abatement).

This museum is great no only for those who are really interested in motorbikes. It is very interesting to see the history of all of them and to see how much effort Uwe Kobilke put in.

If you come to Berlin you should come and visit this museum. Have a look for suitable accommodations in advance. There are a lot of apartments (Unterkünfte Berlin) right in the centre, for example near the Alexander Square where is museum is located.

Have a look for accommodation (Ferienwohnung Berlin) or for one of all the Hotels in Berlin and visit the city. Plan a few more days since there are loads of sights to see in Berlin.

Paris Culture

So you’ve arrived in Paris! You’re excited, you want to explore, but you’re tired and hungry and think that some food is needed to fuel you up for the exiting holiday you’re about to embark on. So, where to go? Everyone knows that Paris is filled with restaurants, bistros, cafes and Bars and you’ve heard that they’re all so good! But why settle for ‘so good’ when you can get excellent. Rely on Oh Trip to guide you to the best places to go, eat and visit in the capital of Love.

Our favourite restaurant / bar / gallery / dance club (yep, it’s possibly the most versatile venue in Paris) of the moment is Point Ephémère. It comes as no surprise that with a terrace, a concert space, a dance floor, a gallery area and an extensive menu of one of the most creative selection of food that I have ever read, Point Ephémère is the most popular after dark hang out amongst the up and coming musical and artistic talent of the city.

The most exciting recent news of the….well, I’m not to sure what to call it, is the exhibition that will be held by contemporary Korean artist Jeong- Hwa Choi. Until the 20th of September, the bar will be collecting any objects that you would like to disregard, with your name and the objects value written on it somewhere. Jeong-Hwa Choi will then create one of his contemporary masterpieces, which will be showcasing from the 28th of September to the 19th of October. The exhibition will be included in Paris’s Nuit Blanch which will be taking place on the night of the 4th of October.

Theres an abundance of Paris apartamentos avilable in the city centre and it’s definitely worth having a look around as the Paris hotel

A Practical Synopsis Of Helicopter Flights Above The Grand Canyon

People who have not been hammered too hard in a tough economy are looking for more creative options for their fun and general enjoyment. As you consider options for your next exciting vacation, perhaps you’ve been weighing the prospect of a helicopter tour.

If you’re planning to book one of exciting Grand Canyon helicopter tours, read on for a review of the four most popular tours and companies operating in Arizona and Las Vegas.

Grand Canyon All-American Helicopter Tour
Rating: 4.2/5

The Grand Canyon All-American Helicopter Tour starts at the Las Vegas airport and treats guests to a 3.5 hour trip that includes a lunch on the floor of the canyon, champagne, limo transfer to and from your hotel and a guided tour through some of Vegas and Nevada’s sites on the way.

The cost of this tour typically hovers around $300. However you should budget for a potential fuel surcharge being added on at the last minute. This unexpected and unadvertised fee is what cost the All-American a five out of five score. Instead of surprising passengers with a $40 expense, they should simply advertise the new price.

Phoenix Grand Canyon Helicopter Adventure Tours
Rating: 2.8/5

These Grand Canyon helicopter tours are from Phoenix, and the majority of the day is spent on a bus. If you’re prepared for a 13-hour day, then you can ride a bus from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon airport and afterward enjoy a short helicopter ride.

If you’re tight for time and want a full day that includes a stop in Sedona, a drive through Oak Creek and the Grand Canyon, then this is the trip for you. However, for those looking for a relaxing helicopter ride and a short day, you may want to leave from somewhere closer to the canyon. This helicopter and bus tour is priced from $289.

Papillon West Rim Combo
Rating: 4/5

Papillon is one of the biggest helicopter tour companies operating in and around the Las Vegas and Grand Canyon area. Their West Rim Combo tour is also one of the most popular Las Vegas departures for Grand Canyon sightseeing.

Customers travel from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon West Rim in a luxury SUV. Upon arrival, they are ferried by helicopter to the bottom of the canyon where they take a boat down the Colorado River. There will be stops along the way at Boulder City and the Hoover Dam.

The day takes approximately 8 to 9 hours and includes lunch. And though the tour stops at the SkyWalk attraction, it doesn’t include the cost of admission (an additional $30). This trip is typically priced from $343.

Maverick Helicopter Grand Canyon Tours
Rating: 4.7/5

Maverick runs its Grand Canyon helicopter tours from both Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon airport. Their trips start between $200 and $300 and cover much of the natural geography of the area. They also guarantee a view seat for all passengers.

Don’t Lose Your Luggage - Choose A Unique Luggage Tag

If you’re a frequent flier, you have probably heard or witnessed, or maybe even been a part of, a horror story of lost luggage. Every time you place your personal items on the stand to be checked, you know you might never see your bag again.

There are two main reasons why that could happen…

Obviously, the most obvious reason is that the airline just loses your luggage. It happens all the time. If the airline puts your luggage on the wrong flight or has some other mishap, having your luggage properly marked with embroidered luggage tags could help you get it back. Of course, there are no guarantees when it comes to the airlines.

The second reason you might lose your luggage is a little easier to prevent, though. As you’re probably aware, a lot of luggage looks the same and maybe you’re not so fond of the way polka dot luggage stands apart from the crowd.

I find it amazing at the number of people who travel with the basic black bag. It would be incredibly easy for someone to grab the wrong bag, especially with all those business people carrying virtually identical black Tumi luggage. That’s especially true because, a lot of the time, people are in a rush to leave the airport, so they don’t look at the bag they grab carefully until they get to their destination later.

Once someone accidentally takes your bag, it could take days, or even weeks, to get returned to you. That’s if it even is returned to you. If it’s not marked with something that can identify you, like embroidered luggage tags, it may never get back to you at all.

Of course, some people are dishonest. They might very well grab your bag by accident at the airport. Once they have it, though, they might like the items in it better than their own, so they might choose to keep it. That’s where embroidered luggage tags could come in handy. That way, nobody would accidentally take your bag in the first place.

The biggest argument against embroidered luggage tags is that, if a lot of people use them, they won’t be as unique and easy to spot anymore. Really, though, that could be true of every method of luggage tagging. The truth of the matter is, though, there are so many different types of luggage and so many different ways of tagging it that that should never become a problem.

You might be thinking that you’ve traveled a lot over the years and never had your luggage come up missing. So, why should you get embroidered luggage tags? Well, just because you’ve been lucky up to this point doesn’t mean your luck will continue. And whether you carry top of the line bags or prefer discount luggage, no one wants to lose their things. It doesn’t hurt to be proactive in preventing your luggage from getting lost, after all.

So, what have you got to lose by using embroidered luggage tags? Certainly not your luggage!

Take A Ride On The London Eye, Most Folk Do!

London, the capital city of England and Great Britain, has a great many visitor attractions, a large number of of which are amongst the most popular in the country. For generation upon generation London has been an astoundingly popular vacation destination and much of this interest is due to the grandness of the historical buildings and the diverse culture. While many of the tourist attractions to be found in London have an historic interest, for example the Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace the Tower of London, there are a number of others that are only recent additions, for example the Millennium Bridge, London Aquarium, Millenium Dome, and the most popular of these, the London Eye.

The London Eye is not uncommonly called the Millennium Wheel because it was constructed in 1999 to celebrate the coming of the new millennium. It was officially opened by the British P.M., Mr. Tony Blair, in the evening of 31 December but, sadly, there was a number of safety issues and it was not opened to the public until March 2000. At a heaight of 135 meters above London it has become a highly visible, and unmissable landmark.

In eighteen eighty five, in Earl’s Court, was the Great Wheel of London, which was a huge big Ferris Wheel which was able to accommodate roughly 1,600 folk a time. Sadly it was demolished in 1907 but now London has something of a replacement in the London Eye. Although it is not the hugest Ferris wheel in the world it can legitimately claim to be the worlds hugest cantilever observation tower!

Although the London Eye isn’t able to carry as many folk as the Great Wheel of London could, it is able to accommodate twenty five folk in each of its 32 capsules. In contrast to a Ferris wheel, in the London Eye, you are able to get up and wander around in a capsule however you may decide that you wish to remain seated as it takes approximately half an hour for it to go through a full revolution.

With as many as 3.5 folk traveling on the London Eye every year it is, today, the most visited visitor attraction which charges a fee across London and Great Britain. The most likely reason why folk choose to have a go on the London Eye is to take in the amazing sights afforded by it. At the very top of the Eye you are able to see for as far as four miles. From this unbeatable viewpoint one is able to view such London landmarks as Hampton Court Palace, Buckingham Palace, St Paul’s and Westminster Abbey. Obviously these are just a small number as you are also able to see the best possible views of the majority of London’s landmarks. In fact Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament look as though they are directly underneath.

The London Eye has been the scene of many a marriage proposal and a number of weddings, which can be booked as a package. In fact there are a number of things available which also include educational aspects for schools and colleges as well as river boat trips along the Thames.

If your time in London is limited the London Eye is a real life saver as it is possible to take in nearly all of the most important London landmarks during the half hour flight which is impossible to do any other way (excluding a helicopter or balloon ride). Luckily it is not too difficult to find hotels near the London Eye which will save more time. If you are on a tight budget you will be pleased to know that it is also possible to find cheap London hotels without too much hassle

Lanzarote - Sun, Sea , Sand And Seduction

Lanzarote resort is the most easterly island of the Canary Islands; it lies approximately 79 miles off the coast of Africa, and is the fourth largest island in the Canaries, it is 37 miles (60km) long and 12 (20km) wide.

Lanzarote as with all the Canary Islands are a favorite choice by many visitors year after year because of the weather, this also makes them a perfect year round destination. Lanzarote holiday apartments are in good supply depending on the time of year but some do get booked up year round.

It is due to the dry climate that most visitors come here and many come to see the landscape as it is quite unique. When you look at the volcanic landscape on the island you would presume it had only recently happened.

There is still plenty to do and see on the island, if you want to explore why not take your driving license and hire a car, that way you can explore the island at your own pace.

One of the longest Volcanic Tunnels in the world is the Atlantida. This is over 7km long and includes La Cueva De los Verdes and Jameos Del Agua. Well worth a visit while you are on holiday. There are also several beautiful white beaches to choose from many offering different water sports.

The many sporting activities on offer will mostly be connected to the sea, like surfing, swimming, fishing and diving but the island is also great for windsurfing enthusiasts. The best windsurfing conditions can be found at Costa Tequise.

Puerto Carmen offers diving schools or you can find deep sea fishing excursions, parasailing, Jet Ski’s and many more to suit all ages. If a water sport is not for you then why not try one of the local gyms that also include tennis and squash courts, or simply laze about on the beautiful beach.

Whilst holidaying on this laidback island many choose to come here year after year and many come looking for property in Lanzarote, maybe to buy or for an investment to rent out.

Lanzarote resorts have something on offer to suit every age whether you are sports mad on your holiday or just simply want to relax and, if you are thinking of purchasing a property in Lanzarote make sure to get a local estate agent or solicitor to help you, laws can be different than purchasing a property in England.

For example if there were a Lanzarote property for sale you were interested in, and there was any unpaid bills related to it then you would be legally bound to pay that bill, there are so many things to take into consideration and that is why you need a local estate agent or lawyer to explain all the legalities to you.

The same rules apply when purchasing any property in any country and that is to always make sure that all the legal work is done for by a professional.

Those of you who love going to a market while you are on holiday can visit the one in the old Capital of Tequise, which is on every Sunday morning from 8.30 and 2pm. Here you will find paintings, jewelry, local wines, hand-made-table-cloths, African wood carvings and of course the usual knick-knacks that many markets have.

Those who prefer can try local “paella” or “churros” while relaxing and watching the local Canarian dancers in the main square in front of the church. Don’t forget to haggle at the market. Many of the stallholders are used to this.

Be advised, however- marathons are not for everyone, and though inscription may well be free, it goes without saying that in order not to run into unfortunate situations it is necessary to make a careful choice. Even if you are a veteran sportsperson, careful preparation is needed, planned out and spread over the proceeding months according to the mimic. Introducing Trendy Boutique Hotels

It is becoming increasingly usual that the most recent, not so large, hotels are being classed as a “boutique” hotel. In the immense city of London, the capital of the U. K., as in the great many other major cities of the globe, you can now find a reasonable selection of excellent boutique hotels. Below we take a look at exactly what is a “Boutique Hotel” and where did they first appear

Boutique hotels are generally smaller hotels maintained by a small enterprise, family or couple. However, within the last decade several international hotel chains, in response to the increasing demand for boutique hotels, have commenced in the construction of their own. One thing that has to be almost true is that almost all boutique hotels are uniquely designed with decoration often based on a theme. Such themes are often used throughout the whole hotel. An example of a them could be based on a particular period of history such as the Edwardian period. Sometimes a theme may be used in each different room rather than the whole hotel.

Who Designed The Earliest Hotel Referred To As A Boutique Hotel?

Boutique hotels first began to appear in the late 1980s in New York (USA). Various other hotels claim to have been boutique hotels as far ago as 1981, in other areas such as London in Britain, and San Francisco (USA). The first hotel to be described as a “boutique hotel” was the ‘Morgans’ hotel, New York, in 1984. These earlier claimants were, therefore, subsequently described as such and can not, in reality, claim to be the first.

‘Morgans’ hotel was owned by Steven Rubell and Ian Schrager who had commissioned the Parisian designer Andrée Putman to create a unique, highly stylized, hotel in New York. Putman created the hotel in what has become known as an “America meets Europe” fashion. Morgans needed to be promoted and to do this Steven Rubell set out to make a distinction between his hotel and those of the large hotel chains. He described other hotels as “department store” hotels and his own as a “boutique hotel” to show the distinctive difference - thus the phrase entered the English language for the first time.

Fascinating Boutique Hotels In The UK

42 The Calls (hotel), Leeds, lays claim to being the first to appear in the United Kingdom. The Calls was a hotel built in the carcass of an old corn mill and used that as the overall theme. The hotel is well known for featuring superb, and extremely comfortable, hand crafted beds in each room and, interestingly, it also has some of the old corn mills original machinery.

The Blake’s Hotel in South Kensington, London, is often quoted as being one of the first boutique hotels in the world but, although this appeared before Morgans in New York, for the reasons outlined above this claim is often dismissed. In recent decades there has been a sharp increase in the number of boutique hotels opening in various places within the United Kingdom of Great Britain with the largest number opening in London.

If you are currently planning a vacation to the U. K. and thinking about spending some time in London it is relatively easy these days to find a London boutique hotel and, surprisingly it is equally as easy to find cheap hotels in London. Occassionally you are able to find a cheap boutique hotel but sadly this is rare.
