An Irrigation Planning: Which How Much Watering is Beneficial?

Irrigation, which is an artificial way of watering, is essential for agriculture production and the development of vegetation. Apart from the other activities, proper way of irrigation is a crucial step towards developing and maintaining garden.

You can not think of offering uniformed water distribution to each and every plant in your garden as, plants and grass have different irrigation needs. And therefore, you should set your irrigation schedule individually for your sprinkler and drip stations.

Imagine the desert areas where there are often water needs, in such cases, drip irrigation and methods are of great advantage. This method uses less water and offer required water to the root level of plants. Therefore, there is nothing like waste of water or a possibility of over-watering!

Why Different Watering Plan for Drip and Sprinkler Systems?

Each watering system has special dripping features and so, thus, you cannot have the same irrigation schedule for both drip and sprinkler systems.

Your drip or trickle system needs to run for longer period compared to your sprinkler system as it offers slow water supply that will obviously take longer time.

See the flow of your water emerging from your drip emitters, and calculate how much time it will take to drench all your plants.

What Amount of Water Will You Offer?

The right proportion of water distribution is the key to nurture the plant roots. So, measure the frequency of your water supply by understanding the needs.

Compared to sprinklers, drip or micro watering technique needs less frequency of water supply. Your water frequency also varies as the season changes.

For example, for the winter, put limit to your irrigation 1 day per week; during spring and fall, keep your water distribution 2 days per week; and for the summer, amplify your water distribution 3 days per week.
