Consistancy - The Vital Ingredient For Golfing Success

Lets face it, everyone wants to improve their game but not all of us have either the time or the money to spend hours on the golf course to make those important improvements or to put that extra 50 yards on our tee shot

One of the keys to improving your game is consistency and this can be achieved using training aids (which can be an essential piece of golf equipment ). These aids are specifically aimed at helping you improve the many aspects of your game, but not necessarily on the course.

Training aids aren’t only just for adults though, they can also be an essential piece of junior golf equipment as well to make sure youngsters don’t get into bad habits very early on in their learning curve.

Starting off can be very frustrating until your technique settles down but there a number of things you can do to make the learning experience more enjoyable do you can focus on getting the most out of both the sporting and social aspect of the game.

The first place you should start is by having your swing checked by a professional.

Take the time and the money and get a few lessons in the first instance as these lessons can save you a lot of time in the long run It is always easier to learn something correctly right from the outset, than to try and unlearn bad habits that all (including the pro’s though seldom admitted) golfers tend to end up with.

These lessons will allow a professional to look at your grip, your stance, your take-away, your follow through, and putting stroke and make sure you have a good solid foundation to build your swing on.

Muscle memory is a crucial technique in many sports particularly in golf, as it helps you “feel” when you have either executed a swing or putt correctly or incorrectly for that matter.

This technique when coupled with visualisation can really help accelerate your learning process. So once you have had your lessons you need to have a method of improving your “feel” whilst away from the course.

And of course so you don’t waste your investment in the pro’s lessons, which can be quite costly , but are well worth it if you are serious about the game

The beauty of using training aids for repetition and the development of muscle memory is of course that many of the available golf training aids can be used in a small area like a backyard, and although you can spend a lot of money on some of these aids most of them are reasonably priced.

There are many and varied types of aids available but what you choose will depend on your budget and the particular part of your game you are trying to improve. As the saying goes “Rome wasn’t built in a day” so don’t expect to master the game over night, it can take years.

As long as you are progressing that is fine.
