Johnson Space Center in Houston Texas

Johnson Space Center is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Texas. Located approximately 25 miles south of Houston, Johnson Space Center is not only a popular tourist attraction but also a working component of the NASA space program in the US. In keeping with their dedication to education and research, the Center provides numerous events, exhibits and attractions throughout the year for visitors. There are also a variety of education programs that are specifically geared for teens and younger children.

An introductory film about the space program initiates visitors as they enter the center. Visitors are also treated to a tram tour throughout the center. During the tour, visitors will have the opportunity to see a variety of different sights including the Historic Mission Control Center as well as the Space Vehicle Mockup Facility. One of the most popular exhibits in the Center is The Feel of Space. This innovative and interactive display provides visitors with the opportunity to experience what it really feels like to be in space, including the sense of weightlessness that astronauts experience in space. Other popular exhibits include the Astronaut Gallery, an exhibit that reflects flight suits as well as astronaut portraits.
