Activities With The Bridal Bouquet
When a bride chooses her bridal flowers, it may be hard to think any “activities” will come from it other than as a thing for the bride to hold. But the bride’s bouquet can be the origin of many appealing activities and thoughtful gestures.
If the bride chooses not to have a unity candle, but wants a gesture like it, she could have her bridal bouquet styled by having several small bouquets put together. At a suitable time during the festivities, the bridal bouquet is “broken up” and various people might be given a share, such as the mothers and grandmothers of the bride and groom.
Now, if the bride wants to hang onto onto her bridal bouquet during the wedding ceremony, but is amenable to have a little amusement with it at the festivities, there are several options there as well. How about a dance connected with the bridal bouquet? This is a little silly, but can be full of fun. The bridal bouquet is on show somewhere near the dance floor and the guests must guess the name of a flower that’s included in the bouquet before they are allowed onto the dance floor. The first few guests might not have any trouble as some flowers are very popular, such as roses and carnations, but others might give the guests trouble. Obviously, this won’t work if the bridal bouquet is all one flower but for a customary combined bouquet, it works well.
When it is time for the bride to throw the bouquet, there are some options. Some brides decide not to hold onto their bouquet and simply pull out a single bud out of it before tossing the whole bouquet during the tossing of the bridal bouquet ceremony bunch of flowers created for throwing, and there are other choices as well.
Are there a a substantial number of unmarried women coming to the wedding? Maybe one thrown bouquet is not enough. Lots of brides would like something with a bit more fun. There are several alternatives, really.
A popular option is to ask the florist to make a number miniature bouquets and then bunch them to look like one bouquet. They will be held together lightly with a ribbon. When it is time for the bouquet toss, the bride unties the ribbon, and throws the “bouquet” which is actually a number miniature bouquets. That means a few women will catch the bouquet, rather than just one.
Well in advance of the wedding day the wedding mc must discuss with the forthcoming bride exactly what ceremonies she would like to have in connection with the bridal bouquet. This should be agreed along with all the other duties the bridal couple want the wedding mc to perform at the wedding festivities.
Then it’s time to plan and organize for the role of wedding mc.
